Meet our Pastor

Pastor Charles C. Davis and Reverend Patrice M. Davis

Pastor Charles C. Davis, a native of North Carolina, was born in Robeson County but grew up in Fayetteville.  He is the son of the late Charles and Ethel Davis. He is a graduate of E. E. Smith High School.  He continued his education at Fayetteville State University but temporarily withdrew to serve in the United States Army for two years.  After completing his military obligation, he re-entered Fayetteville State University where he successfully earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration.  He continued achieving his academic goals by also graduating from the University of North Carolina School of Business Management Program.

Pastor Charles Davis was called into the ministry in 1976.
He was called to pastor in 1980 and has continued to walk
in his calling. His strengths are preaching, teaching and pastoral care.  He enjoys gospel preaching, gospel music
and studying God’s Holy Word. He also believes in doing everything decently and in order. His biblical calling and pastoral experience led him to pursue a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biblical Studies at Trinity Theological Seminary.
He has also done additional studies of God’s Holy WORD.

Pastor Davis was called to the St. Matthew Baptist Church in Lugoff in November 2002.  He was installed as Pastor on April 6, 2003. Since his installation, he has worked tirelessly to bring forth the vision given to him by God to take the church to a higher level. Some of his many accomplishments since his installation include, but not limited to: Church Membership growth, increased attendance in Sunday School, Bible Study, ordination of additional Deacons, Praise and Worship Team Ministry, Intercession Prayer Team, First Response Team, Greeter Ministry, Food Pantry, Youth Praise Choir, Zion Dancers, Children’s Church, Puppet Ministry, and most excitedly, the completion of a New Church Sanctuary and Center for Christian Education and Nurturing. 

Pastor Davis is a member of the Concerned Clergy of Kershaw County and he is presently the vice president.  

The love of Pastor Davis’ life is his wife, Rev. Patrice Davis.  They reside in Camden, SC. They have one daughter, a son-in-law and four beautiful grandchildren. Pastor Davis is truly a Man of God, called and sent by God, and filled with the Holy Spirit
